Google Buzz was announced on February 9, 2010,It was the first step of Google in social Networking by using web based e mail program Gmail .in Google Buzz Users can share links, photos, videos, status messages and comments organized in "conversations" and visible in the user's inbox.
On October 14, 2011, Google announced that Google Buzz would be shut down together with the Buzz API "in a few weeks", in order to focus on Google+ instead. Bradley Horowitz, Google's Vice President, Product, explained the ramifications, "While people obviously won't be able to create new posts after that, they will be able to view their existing content on their Google Profile, and download it using Google Takeout." He further indicated "We learned a lot from products like Buzz, and are putting that learning to work every day in our vision for products like Google+".
Google is now alerting Gmail users about the impending retirement of its Buzz service. The notification in a yellow box reads,
"Google Buzz is going away, but your posts are yours to keep" and directs users to a page that provides further information on how users can port their Google Buzz data.
"Changing the world takes focus on the future, and honesty about the past. We learned a lot from products like Buzz, and are putting that learning to work every day in our vision for products like Google+," said Google in a blog post.
